Covers booked direct
You are paying commission on bookings that already knew your name. The platforms are not generating that demand, they are intercepting it, and the fix is being easier to book with directly than through them.
01 Where it leaks
The four that cost the most
Service-time calls
The phone rings hardest exactly when nobody can pick it up. Those covers go to whoever answers.
Platform commission
A slice of every booking, on customers who searched for you by name and clicked the first thing they saw.
The no-show table
A four-top that does not arrive on a Saturday is not a lost booking, it is a lost sitting.
The private hire enquiry
High-value, slow to answer, and usually competing against three venues who replied faster.
02 The build
What we put in
- AI receptionist taking bookings during service, straight into your covers system
- WhatsApp and Instagram enquiries answered and booked in one inbox
- Direct booking flow on your own site, with deposits for large parties
- No-show reduction with confirmation, reminder and waiting-list release
- Local SEO and a site that outranks the aggregators on your own name
Questions
Should we leave the booking platforms entirely?
Rarely. The sensible move is to make direct the easiest option so the platforms become genuine discovery rather than a tax on customers who already knew you. Most venues shift the mix rather than cutting the cord.
Does it integrate with our covers system?
Most of the major systems, yes. We confirm yours before quoting. Where there is no API we can still take the booking and push it in, with a human confirming.
What about large groups and private hire?
Those are routed to a human immediately with the details captured, because that is a conversation worth having in person.

What is it costing your restaurants business?
Twenty minutes. Bring your call log and your enquiry inbox. If there is nothing worth fixing we will say so and you get the time back.
